TBTL People Helpers Alert!! Did Listener Wes' Niece Eat Meth?

I got this email the other day:

...Luke, as a devoted Ten, When I was faced with this riddle, I could think of no one better to help than you and the Tens of listeners.

I earnestly need your help in solving a mystery. Recently, while at the park with my 2 year old niece I noticed she had picked something off the ground and was trying to put it into her mouth. This is in no way unusual behavior. Calmly, I reached down to extract whatever might be inhabiting her mouth when I saw it. She had a small plastic cylinder, filled with some crystalline substance and covered with a balled-up gauze lid. I've shown it to those close to me while we try to come to a consensus on what it is. None of my close friends or family have had extensive drug experience so I don't consider any of them authorities on the matter. That's why I've come to you and the Tens for help. I must know if this is crystal meth or just pieces of plastic so I can continue my life! If any listener has the capability of testing the substance I would be willing to do a little sleuthing. Any help would be much appreciated!...

The good news is that Wes' niece seems okay. Kinda.

...P.S. My niece is fine (although she does keep asking for her crank back)...

So What do you guys think it is?

What the shoe bomber and Janet Jackson have in common

REIDJANET

They both made my life harder.

There is this new book out called YOU RUINED IT FOR EVERYONE. This got me thinking about my personal list:

Richard Reid made me have to take my shoes off at the airport (which leads to an internal debate every time I fly...do I wear flats which are easier to slip off but lead to having bare feet on a gross public floor and having to check my pedicure before traveling or shoes with socks, which are generally more of a hassle to take on and off)

Janet Jackson's "malfunction" led to the FCC going crazy and making life so much harder for anyone working in media (like how you can be p*ssed off, but can't take a p*ss...IT'S THE SAME WORD!)

Kate Moss made me feel fat for the first time.

Malcolm Gladwell (I was just going about my life ignorantly in bliss and now EVERYTHING is a tipping point, a blink, or an outlier)

Meet The Tens!

Picture1

From Sean's Mix Tape Blog -

"Recently, tbtl hosted an awesome party at the Tacoma Azteca which Luke brilliantly dubbed the tbtl fiesta fiesta. It was a night filled with yummy food, music from local guys The Glass Notes, a Ford Fiesta or two were definitely hanging around, and of course, the tens were there in full force. I figured it would be fun to get to know the tens by asking them some questions therefore allowing tbtl to get inside of their heads, ultimately allowing tbtl to control them for our own sinister purposes. I mean, so tbtl can love them even more than we already do. Not control them."

**PROGRAM NOTE** Today's show (and the rest of the week) will start at 1pm west coast.

The Photo Shoot Nobody Asked For, Luke In His Boxer Shorts.

Well isn't this nice, Seattle Met Magazine decided to conduct a little Q&A with yours truly. In case 60 minutes per day of listening to my self-obsessed musings isn't enough, now you can read them on the printed page. Try to contain your excitement.

On today's edition of TBTL, apparently there's someone who knows even less about twitter than I do, Sarah Palin. Speaking of twitter, no sooner had I started tweeting than I committed a horrible faux pas. Full report today. And we debut a new segment, that Jen will definitely hate. That's why we're doing it on a day she's not around.

PROGRAM NOTE: Today's show (and the rest of the week's episodes) will start at 1:00pm West Coast.

See you then!

Okay, This Is To Make Up For The Video Game Kid.

Our dear friend Nikki W/ Two K's sent this along.

MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON from Dean Fleischer-Camp on Vimeo.

Nikki summed it up perfectly: 'it's incredible and slightly tragic and sweet and clever all at once'
